Anne-Elisabeth Fontaine

Born in Cayenne, French Guiana, in 1996.

I grew up in Toulouse, living up to the myth of the creative child. Drawing, painting, modeling, etc. were among my favorite activities. After high school, I developed a strong interest in architecture, which I studied for three years at the Ecole Nationale Supérieure d’Architecture de Paris Val de Seine. It was during this training that my sensitivity to drawing, volumes and working with light grew even stronger.

I then went on to study at Emile Cohl, to rigorously exploit my drawing skills. I fell in love with painting during this course. This medium allows me to express myself best.

I love portraiture and genre scenes, which hide many secrets when it comes to orchestration… All the imagination that can be created around it, the secrets and drama is what is important to me.

I work most of the time with oils, because this medium gives me a freedom of control that I don’t feel with any other.
